Throughout history, there has been a symbiotic relationship between money and power. Ray Dalio reminds us of the dynamics between parties in power in the 16th and 17th centuries, namely royal families, the land owners, and the Church. The three of these powers leveraged each other for greater monetary gains for themselves.
Today, the ecosystem of money and power differs little from centuries ago. It’s the same game, but with new players. Ray Dalio says, “You still see the same dynamic. You see those with money dealing with those that have political power around those assets that are considered most valuable.”
