An accomplished athlete and entrepreneur Dean Muhtadi is helping his fellow WWE superstars earn millions through brand partnerships.
Key Details
- Dean Muhtadi is a former NFL, WWE, and MBA athlete and co-founded Paragon Talent Group this year.
- The company has already taken on 30 clients and earned $10 million in revenue in less than a year, Inc reports.
- Paragon Talent Group has managed to break out in an industry filled with mistrust, competition, and inflexibility by building relationships through Muhtadi’s WWE connections and offering new opportunities.
Why it’s Important
Paragon Talent Group saw an opportunity and took it, helping to foster needed trust between WWE clients and putting the needs of the players first.
There is mistrust in the wrestling industry when it comes to brand partnerships and Muhtadi’s name helped ensure that many WWE stars felt more willing to step out of their comfort zones and sign with a new talent agency with no history or record.
“Paragon [was founded] to fill a void in talent representation for pro wrestlers, most of whom have to negotiate their own contracts for non-wrestling activities ranging from brand partnerships to appearances in film, TV, and commercials,” says Inc.
“The client-friendly practice has helped Paragon amass a large roster of wrestlers in a short period of time, according to the co-founders.”
It helped that Muhtadi was able to bring trust to the new company and bring his connections to bear. The company breaks the norm in talent representation of exclusivity and allows its clients to sign non-exclusive contracts so that they can pursue additional opportunities outside of Paragon.
Notable Quote
“They’re constantly getting cheated and ripped off, and they just don’t know their worth. They don’t know how to seek out other markets and other job opportunities outside of the wrestling bubble, and it was just sad to see,” says Muhtadi.
