This Could Be Apple’s Next Move

Apple’s next venture could be into advertising.

Needham investment-management analyst Laura Martin believes that Apple could be looking to launch its own mobile advertising platform.

If true, this could mean major revenue for the tech giant. Being the largest company in the world, it needs to continuously find new areas of expansion. Plus with its privacy restrictions, it has proprietary access to its users.

The global digital advertising market is expected to generate $600 billion this year, making the advertising sector a profitable avenue for Apple to explore.

A privacy-first ad platform could bring added value to the company. The revenue from Apple’s ad-driven apps declined in 2021.

Martin’s evidence for a potential Apple advertising platform comes mostly from their recent job listings. The company has been looking to hire more employees for its Ad Platform unit. Plus, it had a presence at a major advertising festival this past June.
