- The companies announced their new partnership on Monday that will offer affordable prepaid wireless phone plans with Verizon’s Straight Talk brand.
- Currently, plans for Straight Talk Internet start at $45 a month and require users to purchase a $99 a router. The plan comes with unlimited 5G or 45 LTE data with connection speeds up to 100 Mbps.
- Nearly 2,000 Walmart stores will have the Straight Talk Home which will come in a convenient grab-and-go format.
Why it’s news
This is the second prepaid phone plan Verizon has released in two months. In September the company launched Total. That service plan is available in multiple retailers including Walmart, Target, and Dollar General.
The deal between the companies aims to provide users with a cost effective way to have a reliable phone plan.
“This new service will help more consumers bridge the divide to the digital world by making high-speed broadband more affordable and attainable for those that need reliable internet, but prefer no contracts, no credit checks and a broader choice in payment options—including cash,” Verizon reports in a press release.
