Why it’s news
Amazon is extending its Buy with Prime service to all eligible U.S. online merchants by the end of January 2023.
Buy with Prime allows third-party websites to offer popular prime benefits such as fast, free shipping, free returns, and a more straightforward buying process. The service was launched in April last year but was invite-only and only offered to websites already using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to handle shipping and logistics.
Now the service is being offered to all eligible U.S. merchants starting at the end of this month. By offering this service, websites can establish their own direct relationships with customers, Amazon says.
Since the service launched last April, Amazon says websites using Buy with Prime have seen an average of 25% shopper conversion. The data collected by Amazon measures the average increase in shoppers who placed an order when Buy with Prime was an available purchase option versus when it was not over the same period of time.
The average was a 25% conversion increase, while some websites reported higher increases in the 30% range.
Along with the expansion, websites using Buy with Prime will also be able to show Amazon reviews for products on its sites as well. The reviews will allow the service users to show reviews and further grow trust with its shopper base.
“We’ve been working closely with merchants since the launch of Buy with Prime and have been thrilled to hear the results it’s helped drive for them so far,” says Amazon vice president of Buy with Prime, Peter Larsen. “We’ll continue innovating and investing in new features, such as Reviews from Amazon, to help merchants of all sizes succeed and give Prime members the shopping benefits they love, whether it’s on Amazon or beyond.”
